Welcome to commonMain.dev. I respect your privacy and am committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how I handle your information when you subscribe to the newsletter or interact with the website.

1. Data Controller

commonMain.dev is operated by Bogdan Ștefan, an individual developer based in Romania. For any data-related inquiries, you can reach me at: commonMain@bogdancodes.com.

2. Data We Collect and Why

I only collect the minimum amount of data necessary to provide you with the newsletter:

  • Email Address: When you subscribe, I collect your email address to deliver the weekly newsletter.
  • Form Submissions: If you use our Tally.so forms to submit a link or a sponsorship request, I collect the information you provide in those fields to process your request.
  • Usage Data: I use Plausible Analytics to understand how readers interact with the site. This data is fully anonymous, contains no personal information, and does not use cookies.

I process your data based on your Consent. By subscribing to the newsletter or submitting a form, you agree to this processing. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any email.

4. Third-Party "Dependencies" (Sub-processors)

To keep the build running, I use a few trusted third-party services:

  • Ghost: My CMS and newsletter delivery platform.
  • Tally.so: Used for link submissions and sponsorship inquiries.
  • Plausible Analytics: Used for anonymous site metrics.

Note on Sponsors: I do not share your email address or personal data with sponsors. I only share aggregate, anonymous statistics (such as total subscriber count and average open rates).

5. Affiliate Disclosure

Some links in the newsletter may be affiliate links (e.g., RevenueCat, Codemagic). If you click these links, the third-party provider may use cookies or tracking to credit the referral to commonMain.dev. This happens on their platform, not mine.

6. Data Retention

I keep your email address only for as long as you are subscribed to commonMain.dev. If you unsubscribe, your data is deleted from the active mailing list.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Access/Portability: You can ask for a copy of your data.
  • Correction/Deletion: You can ask me to fix or delete your data.
  • Object/Restrict: You can object to how I process your data.
  • Complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian Supervisory Authority (ANSPDCP).
